Job Description

Reporting to the Commercial Lead/Project Manager, the Procurement Lead is responsible for developing and managing procurement activities that support construction projects while ensuring value for money, supplier compliance, timely procurement and uninterrupted material availability. The successful candidate must possess significant building and construction procurement experience with knowledge of engineering materials, heavy equipment and project procurement processes.

Key Responsibilities

Procurement Management • Lead all procurement activities. • Develop procurement strategies. • Manage procurement planning. • Ensure procurement compliance. • Maintain procurement schedules. Supplier Management • Develop supplier relationships. • Evaluate supplier performance. • Conduct supplier audits. • Negotiate pricing and contracts. • Identify new suppliers. Tender Management • Manage RFQs. • Evaluate quotations. • Ensure transparent procurement. • Prepare recommendation reports. • Maintain procurement records. Cost Control • Negotiate competitive pricing. • Monitor procurement budgets. • Deliver procurement savings. • Monitor market trends. • Manage procurement risks. Inventory Coordination • Coordinate with warehouse. • Monitor stock levels. • Prevent stock shortages. • Improve inventory turnover. Contract Administration • Review supplier contracts. • Monitor supplier performance. • Resolve disputes. • Ensure contractual compliance. Requirements & Qualifications

• Degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Logistics, Business or related discipline. • Professional Procurement qualification (CIPS preferred). Experience • Minimum 7 years procurement experience. • Minimum 5 years in the building and construction industry. • Experience procuring: o Structural steel o Reinforcement o Cement o Concrete products o Heavy equipment o Mechanical equipment o Electrical equipment o Construction plant o PPE o Building materials
