Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and safety-focused Foreman to lead our foundations crew. You'll be the pivotal link between the site management and the groundwork team, ensuring that every project starts on a solid and compliant footing.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Safety: Directly supervise and motivate the foundations crew, ensuring all work adheres to strict safety protocols, quality standards, and project schedules. Conduct daily safety briefings.
Technical Oversight: Interpret blueprints and technical specifications related to excavation, formwork, rebar installation, concrete pours, and curing.
Site Management: Coordinate materials, equipment, and labor for efficient foundation execution. Proactively identify and resolve site issues.
Quality Control: Inspect and verify the accuracy of all foundation work before and after concrete placement to ensure a defect-free, high-quality base.
Team Development: Mentor and train junior team members, fostering a culture of teamwork, pride in craftsmanship, and continuous growth.
Requirements & Qualifications
Proven experience (5+ years) as a Foreman or Lead Hand, with a strong focus on large-scale commercial or residential foundations.
Demonstrated expertise in reading and executing complex foundation plans and structural drawings.
Deep knowledge of construction safety regulations and best practices.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to manage a diverse crew effectively.
Commitment to delivering projects on time and to the highest standard of quality.
Relevant trade certification or equivalent on-the-job experience is highly regarded.
Physical health is paramount for this role, as you will often work in demanding environments.
