Job Description

You will prepares and finishes surfaces by applying plaster, cement, and other materials to walls and ceilings for both new builds and renovations. Their work includes installing plasterboard, creating smooth or decorative finishes, and repairing damaged areas. They use a variety of tools and techniques to ensure a durable and aesthetically pleasing surface, working on both internal and external surfaces for residential and commercial projects.

Key Responsibilities

Measuring, cutting, and securing plasterboard panels to walls and ceilings. Mixing and applying multiple coats of plaster, cement, or render to achieve a smooth, level, or decorative finish. Cleaning and preparing surfaces, and preparing and installing corner beads. Filling in joins and screw holes, smoothing surfaces, and applying finishing coats and decorative effects like cornices and mouldings. Patching cracks, smoothing dents, and replacing old or damaged plasterboard and fittings. Installing fire-rated systems, acoustic tiles, and composite wall linings, often working to strict project timelines and safety standards.

Requirements & Qualifications

Trade Certificate or Diploma or equivalent apprenticeship or associate Degree is desirable. Prior experience in given role and construction industry is highly valued. Physical health is paramount for this role, as plasterers often work in demanding environments.
